Quincy was surrendered to the shelter on February 25th, and somehow this sweet 7 year old boy is still waiting for someone to choose him. At 7 years old, Quincy is considered a senior, but you would never know it. He still gets excited for his walks, loves to play, and lights up the second he gets attention. But more than anything, Quincy just wants to be loved. 🥹 The moment you sit down with him, he comes running over and tries his absolute best to become a lap dog, all 56 pounds of him. He just wants to lean against you, feel safe, and be close to someone again. The person who surrendered Quincy shared that he is housebroken, great with kids, and friendly with other dogs, making him the kind of dog so many families dream of having. Unfortunately, after a relationship ended, Quincy was left behind by his Dad, and nobody ever came back for him. And now, day after day, Quincy watches younger dogs and puppies leave the shelter while he stays behind wondering if his turn will ever come. Quincy is now on the urgent list, and I am very worried that he is running out of time. But I made Quincy a promise. I promised him that there is now a whole village of people who are going to help me fight for his life, and together, we are going to find him the most perfect family. Maybe tomorrow could be different for him. Maybe tomorrow will be the day someone walks into the shelter and sees what an incredible dog he truly is. Maybe tomorrow will be the day Quincy finally gets the second chance he deserves. He has so much love left to give, and he deserves to spend his golden years in a home, not in a kennel waiting to be forgotten.
