As a tattoo artist who doesnt do blackouts because they are REALLY really DIFFICULT AND TECHNICAL (and for this reason definitely qualify as “art”) despite what everyone thinks. I love your blackout sleeve and I think it looks clean af.

as a nurse, i always feel for the vein. sometimes you can see a big beautiful waterhose vein, but generally those are seen by shape and not color, so the tattoos don’t really keep you from finding it anyway.

As a phlebotomist it’s important to be able to draw someone of any skin type, color, or texture. Including black out tattoos! It definitely shouldn’t make our job any more difficult lol

My first concern wasn’t finding a vein! As a midwife I know how to do that without looking 🤣 I was more worried why you were in the er in the first place! Hope your ok girl 🫶

If they aren’t finding a vein by the feel, tell them to stop and request someone else. IVs do not go in superficial veins!!
