Did yall even watch the movie??? Ferris isn’t a bad friend he drags Cameron to live for once in his life and realize he’s trapped himself in a prison of his own design. They don’t ignore Cameron’s sadness, the movie is ABOUT Cameron’s depression.

How I wish John Hughes were still alive. He understood teenagers as actual people instead of just “a faze”. He gave children walking into the world of the adult, a voice. Also fun fact, Ferris Bueller and The Breakfast Club take place in the same universe, making it a duology

this movie is more about cameron than ferris. without cameron, there wouldn’t be a day off, not without that fucking car.

I feel like John Hughes wrote both Cameron and Ferris as self inserts, both of them are pieces of his soul in perfect contrast

This movie from Cameron’s pov must have felt like a quiet coming of age rather than a ridiculous comedy. He was just a kid with too much on his shoulders.

I saw a fan theory that Ferris is stuck in a groundhog day loop, thus why he addresses the audience in a meta way and why he seems so carefree/unafraid of consequences. And his way of getting out of the loop was getting Cameron to cut loose finally

Could it be said that fight club and this movie have the same plot? you just aren’t seeing two characters play one person, but rather watching one man as he is and one as he would want to be. Is that not the same?
