My father's life was saved by an organ donor. Because of this, he was able to watch me graduate college. We went through MONTHS of screening and regulations before he was gifted a new set of lungs. The rampant misinformation about organ donation is baffling

I could totally be wrong but I’m pretty sure most medical professionals are professional enough to not let their feelings get in the way of saving someone’s life. This isn’t greys anatomy but hey idk peoples experiences so maybe I’m wrong!

anyone on the direct patient care team (doctors, nurses, techs) does not know your organ donation status because we don't want people to think this. We call in a different team to have that conversation if that is a point we're at

If you arent an organ donor, talk to someone who was saved by organ donation. My husband was on the list for 4 years, in the hospital for 313 days. I am so thankful for the organ donor who let us live our lives again.

As an EMT, yes we check your ID if we have tike, no we don't care if it says donor or not, no it will not effect your care

I signed up to be an organ donor before I even truly understood what that means because it just felt like the right thing to do. I understand people that are uncomfortable with it but if it’s just that you don’t want to, just say that. We don’t need to come up with conspiracies to scare people out of live saving measures.
