Finnaly at 43 i can see the work I've done being honored by my parents. It's been a long 40 years wading through the mudd alone but I'm happy to say there is finally no resistance only support. And my parents have become my best friends. When I left home at 19 I thought i would be the kid who never bothered to visit and just slowly drifted out into the world. I'm so thankful I decided 7/8 years after being gone that I was going to be the bigger the person, put in the work to meet them where they are, and wasn't afraid to admit to myself that knowing my family as adult mattered to me no matter what has happened.
