@racing.spirit_ss: When the S14 Silvia/200SX was first released in 1994, NISMO quickly launched a fully tuned version based on the model. This 270-horsepower model, dubbed the 270R, showcased Nissan's mistake to the world: essentially, the excellent balance of the S14 platform, the robust and reliable SR20 engine block, and the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive (FR) layout could have made the Silvia a winner in the low-cost sports car segment. A viscous, sponge-like LSD and tiny, decagonal brake discs were a waste! NISMO corrected many of these mistakes (but not all), making the 270R a powerful limited-edition sports car. While the Nissan Silvia was built as an affordable coupe to compete with the likes of the Mazda MX6 and Toyota Celica, the 270R fully utilized the inherent advantages of the S14 platform as a sports car, enabling it to compete on the track.
