@maudlinoddity: 🦇 RELEASE THE BATS 🦇 happy world goth day! sometimes you have to get a little creative with your posing to properly show off your "bat wings" it really is too difficult to pinpoint what exactly in my childhood lead me to the goth subculture in adulthood... my family always making halloween feel like the most magical day of the year... vincent price being my favorite guest on the muppet show... staring into the cemetery whenever we drove past... wanting to be raven from teen titans when i grew up... obsession with all things morbid (especially mummification & the witch trials)... seeing rhps for the first time in 4th grade... being constantly surrounded by my parents incredible 80s music taste... though no one aspect was "goth" individually, these moments when my curiosity and appreciation for things often deemed dark or disturbing was not turned from but indulged-in ultimately manifested in ways that continue to enrich the fullness of my life and will echo on to the end of my days. and of course - the fact that ive loved vampires from as long as i can remember surely has a little something to do with it as well!
