@whatonearth_tv: When a shark tries to eat a hagfish, it gets a mouthful of slime. A single hagfish can release enough slime to fill a bucket in under a second — a thick, expanding gel that clogs gills and chokes predators into spitting it out. The slime expands to 10,000 times its original volume. It has no jaws, no true spine, and has barely changed in 300 million years. Evolution decided it was already perfect. #hagfish #shark #deepsea #oceanfacts #naturefacts #marinelife #woetv
