Government never thinks. Always do these token gestures when they are clearly pointless

Theme park prices are already out so the option to do as you suggest isn’t there … also this is a 15% saving so £15 saving on £100 .. for many families that is significant

I believe the saving will be closer to £13, however I doubt this saving will be the catalyst for struggling families.

Maybe tax us less, that would help.

I'm not sure businesses can afford to pass on the 15% saving.

Only people to benefit are those that can afford it, it wouldn’t matter if it were free I couldn’t afford the extra fuel to get there, perhaps reducing fuel duty would have been better so struggling families could afford free days out in national parks or beaches

The big companies will pass on the savings because it's easily trackable and the bad publicity would be awful if they didn't. Smaller companies, less likely.

this is exactly what I thought when I heard this. The biggest theme park operator is Merlin who are struggling so this extra 15% margin will help them

Zero legal obligation for businesses to pass that saving onto the consumer.

Exactly, just tinkering around at the edges without actually doing anything, not serious

Exactly! Completely ridiculous. A lot of families couldn’t afford to go to theme parks and are struggling with ordinary bills

It’s unlikely restaurant and other hospitality companies will reprint all their menus and pricing. It will cost them a fortune

This why the noise around hospitality around VAT cuts is on there to benefit themselves, not to stimulate demand or to lower prices. Same logic on this scheme.

All paid for by the daily increase the government takes due the higher fuel costs. So in reality yet again we’re all paying for.
