My hips have never been able to keep up a belt so I’ve used a suspended setup since I started 18 years ago. I got the occidental canvas ones maybe a fews years after I started and they’re still going. Granted I only wear them when I’m framing now , which is rarely.

I switched about 10 years ago.....took a lil while to get used to but definitely love it now... saved the hips. I wear my chest strap at the 'belly shelf' 🤣🤣🤣 Adjust the height after they stretch out. I have mine adjusted to normal belt height. also I have the beltless system so the belt doesn't get in the way

It was weird when I finally went to a harness system. It took a couple different versions and brands before I finally got comfortable and now I can’t live without it.

Snug it on your hips too so they share the load with your shoulders

There’s definitely a balance to be found between the shoulders and hips. Only gets to be a real pain when it’s raining. I wear my rain coat over everything to try and keep my bags dry

honestly, my roofing harness with bags on it is the most comfortable version of this i have ever used. Ive tried several brands of belt suspenders and none of them ever seem to fit in a way that is comfortable enough to wear all day.

I like em more when it’s cold but works better gets that weight off them hips after 30 or so yrs takes some getting use to but worth it

good luck with it. I tried them a few decades back and it just didn't work for me. it was fine when I was doing nothing but framing, but it was just too cumbersome overall
