You can also hold the coil spring it will tell ya if it has a bad bearing.

Guessing that’s a tool that hooks up to you’re ear like a screw driver Handel to the ear or a 3/8s hose to you’re hear listening for noises

just grab the coil spring on each corner... it's more accurate because audible noise will travel more than felt vibration in the spring.

yes but for this diagnosis its better to replace bearing on pairs or all 4 wheels at once. If one is bad chances of the other 3 being bad or close to failing are high too.

Totally agree, we all need to be more thorough with diagnosis. Also XV/Crosstrek rear wheel bearings fail SUPER early they are the worst Subaru ones by a mile.

you can also hold the spring when the wheel is spinning. the bad bearing will vibrate the spring.

This is such a cool perspective you know coming from a home mechanic it’s not often you can see and articulate your hands under the car while it’s running you know obviously so you know when they say listen for vibration that’s like wow OK let me roll down the window as I drive😅
