For avocado storage, put them in a closed container fully submerged in water, it will last weeks, even ripe!

I chop up green onions and freeze so I can grab a scoop for anything like ramen, stir fry, burritos, etc. Saves waste and stops the vege crisper from smelling like onions.

Alton Brown had the best trick. Instead of using a bag to cover, I bought a huge amount of disposable shower caps on Amazon for a couple dollars. It works so much better.!

Cut basil just below a leaf nodes (area where the leaves grow from), remove lower leaves, keep the leaves up top, place in a glass of water on a sunny windowsill. Top up the water if the level drops. After 1-2 weeks, roots start to form. Once the roots are 1-2 inches in length, the basil can be potted in compost and kept on the windowsill. To help make the basil big and busy and encourage growth, use the basil, this time pinching/ snipping above the leaf nodes. Once the plant is 2-3 times the size of the pot, more basil plants can be made. That’s Christmas and birthdays sorted for the whole family for a year🌱💚
