As a flooring guy I hate when you glue baseboards in! Totally unnecessary. The nails will hold it plenty good enough. Nothing is permanent.

Looks terrible. Personally, I would have figured out where the low spot is on the cabinet run, and used the belt sander on all the cabinets so they all sat level. Then you wouldn’t have the issue with that end cabinet being too high, so you wouldn’t need that trim piece to hide the gap.

Most homeowners would accept this, however it’s typically frowned upon to leave exposed millwork toe kick . It’s customary to continue baseboard as toe kick of millwork in order to prevent exposure of raw wood.
