@moviegoodormoviebad: Think about all the people who make your favorite movies and make sure you seem them in the best movie theaters you can! #obsession #indenavarrette #movietheater #lighting #makeup @Blumhouse @focusfeatures
I heard/read that a lot of the cast and crew are younger millennials/older gen Z, including Curry Barker, and it really comes through in the final movie. Obsession is such a poignant critique of modern dating and our fear of being vulnerable, and it’s been a while since I’ve really felt that a film was authentically for this generation.

I love the scene when she’s standing outside of the house and her eyes are almost glowing in an uncanny way and I feel like no one’s talking about that one! It’s so good

Honestly might be asking for too much but I’d love a Halloween re-release, however with how audiences have already been maybe not😭💀

If you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend his short film milk and serial on yt. He made that movie with an $800 budget and it is incredible. Don’t read anything about it, just go in blind!

How could we make sure the theatre had adequate projection?

you gotta shout out the Grips too! they are in charge of the absence of light which was so striking and creative in this movie.

I saw it at the drive in theater and it was fun because the car scene was extra scary but I couldn’t see a lot so can’t wait for it to come out on streaming to see the details

I also thought this movie did the horror/humor balance better than Weapons. I don’t hear many people talking about how intentionally funny some of these scenes are. They really provide high contrast to the horror.

On my rewatch, visibility was something I noticed immediately. It’s unfortunate that some bigger theaters don’t have good projectors in all their showings

SPOILERS - In the dead meat interview, they mentioned the sound mix was off at the sxsw showing and they didn’t hear the willow snap at the end! But the next time they saw it they heard it

This film was the closest emotion I’ve felt to fear since Worlds Fair and that BTS image of Navarrette in the corner is genuinely unsettling.
