This was my first fountain pen. Kaweco and TWSBI are much better and cost 1/3 or less. This is a nice pen, it’s not my daily or favorite. The ink you use, the pressure you use, flexibility and flow of the nib, the way you care for your pens — those things are far more important and if you don’t do those things even a 20k pen will skid out and clog. It’s like saying a BMW is the only and best car ever. Or a Chanel purse is the best ever. Not quite. In the words of Freckle, “sometimes, things that are expensive are worse.”

It’s funny because Mont Blanc in the fountain pen circles is seen as overpriced. You can find pens just as well made from Lamy, Pilot, or Platinum for 1/2 the cost (or less).
