This is an introduction to a number of topics in energy management. This is a topic that is very near and dear to my heart because I have suffered from various mitochondrial issues related to a core mitochondrial illness. Given that mitochondria produce energy, having any issue with the mitochondria will teach you about energy management very quickly. I hope this is useful, and there is more content to come on this. I frankly feel this topic is better suited for long form and so this video is a little longer than normal. There will definitely be long form content on this topic. Some things that weren't mentioned in this video are: 1. It is very difficult to get a sense of how much energy another person has. You might have a general sense of how energetic your coworkers or your boss is but to really get a sense of how the person's energy works, it requires basically living with that person and asking them throughout any given day where their energy is going and how they feel. If evaluating one's own energy is difficult, it becomes a lot more complicated when you're doing this for somebody else. 2. Very few people move from low-energy states to high-energy states quickly. I am very thankfully one of them though I am still working on increasing energy stores. This has given me a unique window into energy management. A lot of high-energy people will say their energy diminishes with age but that is generally a decades-long process. 3. There are a number of biochemical frameworks we can use to look at this and these are a whole other topic that I think is basically only suited for long form. The relationship between the various catecholamines (dopamine, serotonin, etc.) and the felt experience of mental energy is a whole question. It's also worth noting that the neuroscientists have not agreed what the exact mechanism for the felt experience of mental fatigue is - which is cool! #SelfImprovement #psychology #energy #communication #motivation
