@vtranscending: Tombstones, esp Chinese ones, carry so much history and identity. The info on this headstone really guided my research and gave me a jumping off point to ask questions about my ancestors. I learned about their ancestral village (文華橋) and the relationships between the 6 ppl buried in this combined grave. This is actually not the og grave - there were separate tombstones but as the Chinese gov claimed land, my family had to move and combine them into one. That also means this grave didn't have other common pieces of info like descendants' names, 🎂💀 years, etc. And that's exactly the type of info I chased down my grandaunt for. #aapi #china #diaspora #heritage #chinamaxxing
地府 is not exactly 'hell', but i dont know a good word for it either😅😅😅. Either way good content, as an immigrant i resonate with your great grandfather.

在汉字中,地府类似于人死亡后的政府,好人可以投胎轮回做人,作恶多端的坏人下地狱受罪
