Let’s make a giant focaccia cheeseburger 🍔 First we’ll use the Ooni Volt 12 Electric pizza oven to bake the giant focaccia burger bun… FOR THE GIANT FOCACCIA BURGER BUN: 1/2 batch* of my overnight, same-day or sourdough focaccia recipe (click the FOCACCIA TUTORIALS playlist button above my grid) Extra virgin olive oil White sesame seeds Flaky sea salt  *I make the full batch and use the second half of the dough to make a focaccia pizza or mini focaccia. Make the dough, divide it in half and place it into a Ooni Cast Iron Skillet Pan (9-inch) that has been lined with nonstick parchment paper and olive oil. Cover and leave it to proof at room temperature for 1-1.5 hours. Near the end of the proofing time, preheat the Ooni Volt to 225C/435F and set the timer to the max amount of time. It should preheat within ten minutes! Drizzle the dough with extra virgin olive oil, dimple it and then sprinkle with sesame seeds and flaky sea salt.  Set the timer dial to the max time and use the removable handle to transfer the cast iron skillet into the Volt, then use the dial to direct the heat to the bottom of the pizza oven. Bake for about 20 minutes and then prepare the rest of the burger. FOR THE BURGER: 600g (1.3 lbs) ground beef (20% fat) seasoned with salt and pepper 1 thinly sliced onion 4-5 slices cheese of your choice Burger sauce Shredded iceberg lettuce  Tomatoes Pink pickled onions (or sliced red onion) Pickles  Place the Ooni Dual-Sided Grizzler Plate onto your hob/stove top and preheat it to a medium high heat. Press the beef into a disc that is bigger than the bun size (it will shrink). Place it onto the preheated Grizzler plate, scatter the white onions and some flaky sea salt over the top and then use the bottom of a heavy pan to smash the burger into the Grizzler Plate. Cook until a crust has formed, flip, place the cheese on top and continue cooking to your liking. Slice the the focaccia bun horizontally and load it up with the sauces and toppings of your choice and then add on the cheeseburger patty. Cut into 4-6 wedges and enjoy!
