@rachelcruze: If you’ve run the numbers, you have a plan, and your family is okay financially, it’s okay to choose more time with your kids. Working moms carry so much guilt around this stuff. But wanting a slower season doesn’t mean you’re failing. ♥️
She only needs $5000 a month to survive a month? I need $27,000 a month just to pay my bills and not even have money for savings and owe tons of medical bills. Omg. I wish $5000 a month

I left a full time job to be a SAHM so that we didn’t have to pay for childcare. My income was pretty much paying for nothing but childcare. Smartest decision ever.

I was a SAHM for the first 8 yrs of my kids lives, I just got my dream job getting paid $47k…I’m putting in my 2 weeks notice in June to substitute at my kids school. We are building a house on 22 acres at around $475k and will put $300k as down payment and land as collateral. We have no other debt. Once our current house is sold and we pay the remainder off.

Stay at home with your kids if you can afford it. I was lucky and was able to stay at home. Best decision ever.

This is so great. I did the same exact thing, but...my kids are now older, at 16 and 19. I worked my tail off for 22 years and that mom guilt was real. I knew the best thing we could do was leave our very high cost of living state and move to a cheaper one, which we just did a year ago. I feel bad I did not do this much sooner, when the kids were younger. It is better late than never, right? But thanks to the Ramsey team and following their principles since 2018, we are debt free (including the mortgage) and are financially able to live on a single income now. Family time matters more.

Left my lucrative job to be a SAHM for my kids in 2022. Plan was to return in 2023. It’s 2026 and I’m just now looking to go back. I have zero regrets.
