Tucker is not a stupid person. He is up to something and I don’t like it. I am not buying his comments about Trump. To say these people are conservative is bullshit though. They are racist, abusive, alcoholic, homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic and giving people permission to be their hateful selves. The republicans made the choice to make Trump “their guy” and have to reap what they sew. They cannot control him and had an exit many times over. It is hilarious to see people like John thune have to defend Trump. He must be like I would rather have severe hemorrhoids than have to be asked about another post Trump makes online.

He won’t run as a Republican, he’ll run as an independent. He is not popular enough to win as that either, but he is popular enough to peel back votes, primarily from Republicans.

I don’t think he’s planning on running at all, I think he’s gambling on getting to play kingmaker for the Republican Party if MAGA falls apart.

I think the belief is that Tucker has hold over independents and is turning a number of republicans independent. Maybe you can look into research numbers on the significance of those trends for a vid

Unfortunately I think if he announced a political run and went for it - I think he would dominate

Like Trump he would blitz the debates and he could surge from there, so don't rule him out.

Despite his almost historically low approval ratings generally, he’s still overwhelmingly popular among Republicans. Unfortunately, the Republican Party will stay the Party of Trump until he’s gone.

I’m lowkey worried about his sway on liberals and centrists… especially since he can draw in immigrant and first generation voters. Do you have stats to assuage that concern? Cuz that would be nice.

There’s a but. You only need 30-35 percent of the votes in early primary voting to steam roll the competition. Carlson has this in the bag

Thank you. We need to quit giving him air to rise up to bigger platforms. The left needs to appreciate he is arguing some of our points but quit spotlighting him.

My issue is that he’s an opportunist who sees the way things are moving. Sure a Republican Party with a still present Trump isn’t super favorable to him, but a post-Trump party is likely to change very quickly or die off. He’s also, importantly, the only mainstream conservative figure who is free of Trump’s stench enough to gain support outside of the cult, which will be critical in the fallout of this disastrous administration.

I think we will see a nominee who thanks Trump for his work and for passing the baton on to the next generation of conservatives. Almost like taking on the Charlie Kirk mantle which would allow them to essentially imply that Trump is a thing of the past (and create distance there) without actually defying him

I believe Carlson will be a bigger prospect than Vance at that time. Inflation and unemployment will be so bleak by then that anything but MAGA will sound enticing
