Nice overview! Couple of things I’ve noticed: 1. When you use tone mapping on the input transform you skew the original scene linear values before reaching your working space (just something to keep in mind) 2. Unlike Preview and QuickTime, VLC doesn’t colour manage to align its output with your display, which I assume is set to some Apple P3 variant. So that’s why it looks overly saturated (Honestly, reproduction is a whole separate issue from encoding) 3. Beyond colour managing in nodes and project-based RCM there are some hybrid approaches to both, third-party solutions and not least to mention ACES, which I assume would have been to much to include in a single video. Dropping this here to add some context and hope you have a lovely day!

MJohn Destin :
When I do the CST OUT I do, DWG to Use Timeline since my output in the color management is set to Rec 709. Is that okay? Because when I select Rec709 as the final output Color Space, the footage looks double converted (over saturated, very dark and all shadows are gone) please let me know
