@brandonlikesinvesting: Which do you think is better?! Personally I wish either option had some investments. A brokerage on Finvest or Fidelity or something #finvest #PersonalFinance #investing #wealthbuilding

I’d argue they’re the same situation. It’s a lump of cash is in a different location, under the same name. Option A gives the feeling of being frugal

its the same thing because: you are 31 yrs old in both options 12000+18000=30000$ and 29650+350=30000$ and 0$ in debt

A. Gives off being frugal and hopefully that savings is in a high yield savings account.

Option A is better for long-term growth. By keeping the vast majority of the money in savings, they are likely earning more interest—especially if it's in a High-Yield Savings Account (HYSA). However, with only $350 in checking, they have very little "walking around money" and risk overdraft fees if an unexpected bill hits. Option B is better for liquidity and peace of mind. Having $12,000 readily available in checking means they can handle large, immediate expenses without moving money around. The downside is that checking accounts typically offer little to no interest, meaning this money isn't growing as fast as it could be. So both would be mathematical equations, I THINK!?
