@frenchieish: Stenotic nares surgery is NOT covered by insurance… but I was told that if I do it she could live longer bc it would be easier to breathe and better for her organs. But what I don’t understand is how insurance don’t look at this as a necessity. #frenchie #frenchbulldog #vet #dog #dogsoftiktok
insurance doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions. she was born with it….

My pet insurance covered it. You have to get the doctor to write a note saying that it’s necessary.

If you don’t already have insurance… it’s preexisting and won’t be covered. AKC does offer cover for pre-existing conditions but there’s a 365 day waiting period and it’s expensive.

Your insurance doesn’t cover pre existing conditions which is listed with the breed so reading before purchasing it. Some insurance companies do cover 80% of it but it’s probably too late to switch also those are really bad and definitely needs it

Do u already have the insurance before diagnosis? Pre-existing is not covered. I’ve had one with 20k+ of BOAS procedures all covered but was insured at 8 weeks before an issue
