You keep pushing “local community gameplay” while actively creating a game that only works properly for players in bigger or prioritized areas.
During the entire Mega Raid Day on Frøya, Norway, we drove across the island checking gym after gym — and not a single featured Mega Raid spawned. Not one. Instead we got random 1*, 3* and regular 5* raids during a dedicated Mega Raid event.
What made it even worse: raids were not even appearing properly on the map. Gyms stayed empty until we physically drove close to them, and only then raids suddenly activated — yet even after loading in, they still were not the featured Mega Raids.
At the exact same time, the neighboring island 40–60 km away had clusters of featured Mega Raids active constantly, sometimes 5 at once side by side.
This is exactly why players are tired of Niantic’s hypocrisy around Remote Raid nerfs. You punish remote play, demand people “go outside and play locally”, and then fail to provide equal access to events depending on where people live.
Players in rural and isolated communities pay the same money, buy the same tickets and invest the same time — yet get objectively worse access to core event content. That is not “community gameplay”. That is geographic player segregation disguised as game design.
Raid Days used to work consistently everywhere. This was clearly broken, and smaller communities are always the ones paying the price.
