what if he just stays that way I mean he is not a mad scientist but a VERY curious one, to prove that anything is possible as long as you have the mind to it, he just needs to explain why he did it, he doesn't need any redemption, it's either he stays as a villain but playable OR just rebirth. because zandik/ the original had died and didn't achieve immortality because he is the only one that has a slightest chance of having redemption like scaramouche and all his segments or clones of himself isn't most likely because they stopped ageing and their mindset is already been set that way for eternity oops, that alot Because I love to yap when it's something I love

I personally don't think it'll ruin him if it's made correctly, it could be a new Zandik still having his memories and personality but deciding to take a new path, a path that none of the Zandiks took and so, he's living a peaceful life. He can still be a scientist doing researches and experiments even taking that path, the only think that would change is that he finally lets go of his obsession with godhood. Zandik would be happy for once. What would ruin him is if he loses his memories, it wouldn't be Zandik anymore. Just a guy with his name and looks

I really want to play him so bad but unfortunately they’d prolly write a new segment to be playable that forms a bond with the traveler of some sort… but I wouldn’t want that, if I’m being real over expressing what I’d really like to happen instead (cuz it’s unlikely of Genshin) I’d say I’m honestly conflicted about how I feel. The best thing you could hope in a character in a game like Genshin is for them to be playable. But in Dottore’s case. Whatever that will or can happen is shit. It’s unfortunate really.

I saw a comment somewhere, where they thought what if feofan/pantalone, since he’s technically faceless to the traveler will gain their trust and use them in order to get Dottore back and out of the leylines/irminsul bc the shell of irminsul was burnt now the actual thing
