If you can keep a couple handy 8 x 10 pictures of you as a little child and show her those when you're saying it, she'll connect it. They remember your face when you were little but when you're a grown-up, sometimes it doesn't click.

As a former CNA to Alzheimer's and Dementia patients...they don't remember anything after the age of 19-29 but sometimes they surprise us and remember stuff into their 40's. It's a horrible and heartbreaking disease. You're doing a beautiful job.
