No. This is an Aluminium block, it will not take more than 350bhp without cracking under the load. Even with 350bhp you will need to do a lot of intercooling and oil cooling.

Its not that simple , 1st of all no space for a turbo manifold , or turbo as the ABS module is in the way , didnt mention all fuel system upgrades , Intercooler ,piping , Exhaust , not to mention that 90% have Auto gear box which can barely hold the stock engine power , expect to spend at least 15k

However, the ABS block usually gets in the way during a turbo conversion on an E39. You have to relocate it, that’s something you shouldn’t forget.

its not that simple, gearbox may not hold that much power, e36 gearbox (im almost sure e39 has same ones) holds maximum 500hp, automatics are not that fast, and they also may break, you need way more work to make that 600hp, but its possible and its super good engine for boost

if you have to pick one, are you pick m57 or m54 for e39? my bmw service man says m54 have lots of oil leaks because of age. i have e70 and the man says your answer in your hands, buy a m57 and enjoy. is he right?
