I started crying when you thanked the tree. We take trees for granted & we don’t show gratitude enough - toilet paper, writing paper, paper towel, money, oxygen, etc

I love that TikTok still shows me so many different kinds of beauty through culture 🥹 the internet is awful but this one tiny part is pretty cool.

I’m not sure what the significance of this ritual is and I do plan to research this. However, she looks so proud and from here her removal of that piece of tree looks incredible. Well done. You can see the pride of her accomplishment on her face. It’s always amazing seeing our kids accomplish their goals.

What love the most about watch mob pull their coolamons is that the fist thing they do is put their hand on the tree to thank her. Always protocol always greatful.

The microbes in the soil help the tree stay safe and heal.

I don’t know what this cultural practice is, but it feels like something that helps people respect & understand the land they live on, and that is beautiful.🥰

TIL: I just looked it up, it's a multi-purpose container! carrying foraged food, water, babies, for winnowing, and an umbrella.

I love to see this. Honest question because I really am curious, how was this done without today’s tools? Was it done with sharpened rocks?

I talk to the single tree in my back yard. I thank her for staying around even when it’s cold and snowy and when it storms like hell.

I'm seeing a lot of ppl concerned about the tree! y'all, it only kills the tree if you cut a thick ring around the entire trunk, interrupting the sap from between the branches and the roots. This is not something that would harm the tree overmuch! we can safely enjoy learning about another culture 🥰

Putting dirt on the spot you debarked quite literally does nothing except hurt it even more
