Problem is the politicians want this and encourage it. They want politics to be like sports, your team sucks and mine is the best. I miss the days when we had politicians who worked for everyone, not just the ones who vote for them.

I had the best conversation with my nephew yesterday who believes the complete opposite of me politically. It was so nice to share why we believed the way we do on certain subjects. We also agreed that each of our political "sides" make us cringe at times for the way people handle their beliefs. Neither of us changed pur political views but I think it gave us both a deeper understanding of why we each believe the way we do....and I loved that!

I totally agree! I remember a time when my family could discuss their opinions and end up laughing because they all saw things differently. Now it rises to anger or worse we don’t talk at all!!
