@heyreiko_: 🌊The prettiest aesthetic beachy island escape less than 2 hours from London 🌷💗✨ Mersea Island honestly feels like stepping into a little pastel seaside dream — colourful beach huts, tiny coastal houses, fresh seafood spots, peaceful ocean views, and the kind of slow atmosphere that makes you forget you’re still in England 🐚🌸 I’d heard so many good things about this place (especially *those* famous pastel houses 📸🩷) so I finally visited with @lifeonmyplate and completely fell in love with it 🌷✨ 📍Mersea Island, Essex Once you arrive, explore the waterfront around West Mersea, walk along Victoria Esplanade, admire all the cute beach houses, and stop by the harbour for fresh seafood and sea views. If the weather’s good, golden hour here is unreal 🌞💗 TIPS BEFORE YOU GO: ▫️Plan your journey carefully because Mersea Island has high/low tide times — during high tide, access to the island can temporarily close 🌊 ▫️Check Greater Anglia train schedules beforehand because weekend engineering works sometimes mean replacement buses 🚆🌸 ▫️Not driving?
