Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood suffered less from the “white flight” of the 20th century than other South Side neighborhoods and remains one the city’s most racially integrated neighborhoods. My impression of Beverly is that it feels like a half step between the city and a suburb. This is a neighborhood where you’ll benefit from a car; a walking itinerary is rough, but parking is easy.
