I have a Milwaukee stubby impact and it’s tiny but packs a huge punch so I love it way more than any air impact with an annoying hose

Honestly would never have guessed that electric had more power, Just from the idea it's a battery and you assume hard wired has more beef to it

Electric all day for impacts. I’ll use air for things like air hammers or anything that is going to require me standing there for a long period of time working on removing whatever it is.

The moment they make an electric version of an air hammer I’ll be 100% electric

Air tools have more torque in the same form factor, big time! But for normal stuff the electric is so much more convenient!

for working at home electric is better for working in an actual shop with a 30k compressor air is a lot better

air will always win on power in a professional setting, electric is the best tho for tight space

Both are good i use air just for the noise and for some reason i feel like they have a touch more power i use high flow fittings

in a commercial garage with a high capacity air system, air wins, but most people (and some garages) don't have high end air systems. battery has massivly reduced the barrier of entry for home/hoby mechanics, especially If your already invested in a tool/battery system.

For an impact, home mechanic is prolly better off with the electric, if you make money off mechanics air is what I like best

I feel air is better for simple stuff like taking of tires and stuff like that but electric is better for like subframe bolts and stuff like that I don’t know how to really explain it

air tools spin significantly faster. not sure of the physics, but I've often been able to loosen or tighten a spinning bolt that my electric impact simply couldn't. (ball joints, tie rods, end links etc)
