Joty Gill B.Ed ✨ Parent Coach :
As a former teacher and now a parent coach, I’ve been watching this happen for years.
Kids are walking to school looking at their phones. They’re standing at bus stops looking at their phones. And by the time they reach junior high, it only gets worse.
These are devices that many adults themselves struggle with and are addicted to — so what do we think is happening to our children?
So much of what kids are exposed to online is damaging to their mental health, confidence, focus, and relationships. Meanwhile, many parents are overwhelmed, busy working, or simply don’t realize the impact until it’s already taken hold.
We cannot wait until it’s too late.
The conversation needs to start now — within our communities, temples, mosques, gurdwaras, churches, and schools. We need open discussions, parent education, and speakers who can help families understand what children are facing in the digital world today.
This is not about blame. It’s about awareness, education, and protecting the next generation.
