From fear and pain to safety and love - Amira's healing journey continues ♥️ Three months ago, Amira was found alone in a field after enduring unimaginable cruelty. Based on her devastating injuries — a fractured spine, broken femur, head trauma, abrasions and wounds covering her body — we believe she was hit and dragged by a motorcycle before being tied with a wifi cable and thrown into the bushes to die. Too weak to escape, all she could do was cry for help. And thankfully she was heard. We just did not know if she could survive. After one week in emergency care, Amira was transferred into our Safe House for one-on-one care. Since then, we have watched her slowly come back to life. First she lifted her head, then sat up, then stood. Now, despite her instability, our brave girl is determined to walk again. Her recovery is still ongoing and we continue supporting her healing through intensive care, acupuncture and red light therapy. But perhaps the most incredible part of Amira's journey is that despite everything she endured, she chose to trust again. Today she seeks affection, feels safe in our arms and smiles when she is loved. Dogs like Amira remind us of the extraordinary resilience animals carry within them.
