I always do calculated but on items over a pound that will fit in a flat rate envelope, I’ll offer both options because the price can be close sometimes.

Welcome back! You were my first influencer that I followed at the beginning a couple of years ago:) For most clothing items that aren’t too heavy I charge 8.00 flat rate. I’m also on the east side of the us. I find that I usually make 1-2$ on that and it makes up for the occasional overage shipping out west. If I feel like something is heavier I up it to 9.00. Shoes are depending on what they are.

I’ve only been selling since October but have consistently only used ground advantage calculated. That way someone can never claim that shipping wasn’t reasonable. That being said, heavier items in bigger boxes are almost always cheaper through UPS or Fed Ex. Sometimes even if it is lighter but requires a larger box, due awkward shaped item, USPS is outrageous. I have gotten burned by guessing wrong also on box size and padding materials on eBay even with AI help. Still trying to figure out a perfect solution.

that's all I've used for quite a while. buyers do not choose priority even when given the option, so I removed it. now I have a swaying stack of flat rate mailers I'll never be able to use.

I used to do flat rate… and I found that sometimes I’d be losing money. Sometimes I would gain money though! I do calculated now, but may go back to flat rate at some point. Who knew Poshmark would seem cheap for shipping now lol

I’m right there with you! I only do ground advantage. I also only do a flat rate shipping! $7 for under a pound, $10 for a pound , $12 for over a pound. It all balances out! Great minds! Well needed video! 💕💕💕

They always increase 2 or 3 times a year. But I think they snuck in a gas surcharge too. Ground advantage was a great deal in the beginning not so much now.

I always do ground advantage buyer pays. I usually calculate a figure between what usps says online and what percentage eBay is giving.

I know resellers that pay for shipping but they add to the cost at listing and careful when negotiating, I’m new to eBay still learning shipping, we have whatnot figured out so far

I do calculated and I’m on the east coast. I do feel for my California peeps, it does cost them more, but the cost of living is higher out there, so I think to them it’s probably fine.

I charge everyone the same between $5-7 depending on how heavy. I eat the extra cost but I pass on my eBay shipping discount so sometimes I pay an extra $1-3. If FedEx or ups is cheaper (which sometimes it is vs usps), then it goes with them. But I’m also in the Midwest so I guess that helps in my case. 😅
