I’m actually a Wikipedia editor who’s been involved in an ongoing battle about Kwame Ture’s name. It’s a complicated process and I still get emails about it weekly lol but just know that there are a lot of people on Wikipedia who care and want to change this

a few years ago I noticed that they used Marsha P Johnson’s last name throughout her entire Wikipedia article instead of using her pronouns and it took a long time and debate to change that

Do you think there's a reason Wikipedia uses their full name in the early life section? Usually they dont. I mean, that's why Elliot Page isnt dead named at all, because he's only referred to as 'page'.

there are plenty of examples of names changing for different life periods on Wikipedia but I actually think those SUPPORT the claim you're making. Lots of women's names change on the Wikipedia pages pre and post marriage (though it's inconsistent), and titled names always change in accordance with the relevant time period being discussed (Octavius to Octavian to Augustus, e.g., and Albert to George VI). ultimately the name used on the Wikipedia page reflect our best understanding of the name the individual identified with at the relevant time. this is not the case for those who have had names imposed on them with which they do not identify and never have identified.
