I park the truck in the yard and just sit there for a second before getting out. engine off. hands still resting on the wheel. i’ve been doing that more lately. vest comes off first. then my gloves. i toss them over to the passenger side and just sit there in the quiet. it’s funny how loud the highway sounds when everything inside goes still. i check my phone. close it again. nothing new anyway. i ran good miles today. helped a driver chain up near amarillo. stayed with a new guy who blew a tire so he wouldn’t be stuck out there by himself. handled my business. like always. but the moment i shut everything down and step out... it feels different. people online think this life is all open roads, sunsets, and “independent trucker girl” vibes. they don’t see the part where you park for the night and realize there’s no one actually waiting on you. no one asking how your day went. no one making sure you ate. just trucks passing by and the soft glow from the dash. what’s funny is... the same people watching every video are usually the ones talking the most in the comments. i wipe my face, set my alarm for 4:30, and climb into the sleeper. morning comes either way.. and the road still needs drivers.❤️#truck #teendriver #bigtrucks #drivermuda #driver - @bigrigbarbaraa
