@thetextureologist: And what an honor it’s been✨. After 20+ years behind the chair, I’ve had one on one time with over 3,000+ people. At least an hour and a half or more with each. When you really put that into perspective, that’s a lot of people and time shared. Different ages. Different lifestyles. Different cultures. Different races. Different genders. Different personalities, beliefs, experiences and stories. When you sit with that many people, you begin to gain a different perspective on humanity. You begin to see, how similar we are. You learn how much people carry How deeply people want to be seen. How connected hair is to identity, confidence, culture, memory, healing and more. When someone sits in your chair, you are touching more than just their hair. You are holding space for their story. Helping them feel like the best version of themselves. Helping them transform instantly, even if it’s just for a moment. When they leave your chair, they go back into the world carrying that experience. Into their homes. Their work. Their families. Their communities. Their relationships with themselves. As hair stylists, we witness people through so many different seasons of their lives. We become part of their stories in quiet, meaningful ways. And they become part of our stories too. This image represents the scale of that impact. Thousands of people. Thousands of conversations.
