As someone from Howth the Maritime Seafood and Prawn Festival is like this every year. There are darts Southside this weekend so people headed Northside. Irish rail and Dublin Bus are aware of this festival every year and have not provided more transport!

howth in the summer is impossible, the dart is bad but I'm pretty sure the roads were no different. Something needs to be done or else with all the new apartments it will be a no go area and it's a pity because it's a lovely place

Honestly, Dublin really needs to improve public transport and exactly during festivals and big events. We barely get summer here, so when the weather is finally good and people want to go out, enjoy the city, friends and family, the transport system just doesn’t keep up. The DART gets reduced on weekends, trains are overcrowded, extremely hot and uncomfortable, and there are barely enough direct buses to festival locations. If they already know many of people will be attending these events, why not organise extra transport? More trains, more buses, more direct routes and better planning overall. People should be able to enjoy the city and get home safely and comfortably without turning the whole experience into stress.

it actually was super organised, the wait was not 30 minutes and they had actually added more frequency to the trains! The people working were super nice and funny and quickly helped when needed. I had a great time!!

We were stuck in the parking area for almost 3h (literally in the parking for almost 3h to drive 400 m) tried to leave 19.30 and we arrived to Dublin 2 at 22.45. Garda arrived there super late. It was a mess🥲😅😅😅😅

the traffic was bad too, not only the public transport🗿 took us 40 mins to get from sutton station to our house in howth when usually takes max 15 mins, and there was no busses in the way, just loaaads of cars
