This is America🇺🇲 I try and make it a point to always talk to people in the service industry and ask them about their story: why they do what they do, and let them know that they're appreciated. Their stories normally leave me feeling humbled, grateful, and emotional. Meet Amos; he moved to the states from Kenya 6 years ago, starting out in New Jersey, but soon moved to Dallas due to his hatred for the cold and snow. When I asked him if he was married he said,

Meet Amos; he moved to the states from Kenya 6 years ago, starting out in New Jersey, but soon moved to Dallas due to his hatred for the cold and snow. When I asked him if he was married he said, "I wish could, but I cannot afford to marry. I am sending my four younger brothers through college." After further conversation, I learned that he's the only one out of his large family in the U.S. He drives an Uber 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, and has for the past 6 years.. I asked if he wanted to go to school, and he said, "Yes, very much. I want to be a doctor, but I am the eldest and my family needs me to survive, so once they get through school and can begin working to take care of our parents, then I will go to school." He believes in Jesus Christ, and is working tirelessly to take care of his younger siblings and parents, far from home and from everyone he loves. This young man is sacrificing his youth and putting his own hopes and dreams on hold for someone else. I told him I would pray for him, hugged his neck, and we parted ways. I'll never forget this conversation with a true man of nobility and honor.. I saw sadness and determination in his eyes, and I could sense a heaviness in this young man's soul from the weight of his family's world on his shoulders. But, I could also sense his love and trust in our creator. It was humbling to be in his presence.. I'm grateful that Amos is doing his part to make our world a better place. #faith #family #freedom less
