Because when everything becomes quiet, my mind somehow finds its way back to the people I tried so hard to forget. And maybe that is the hardest part about heartbreak… Not the ending itself. Not even the goodbye. But the way someone can leave your life physically while their absence continues living inside you emotionally. Sometimes I sit alone and suddenly old conversations replay in my head like my heart still refuses to accept that those moments are gone now. It’s strange how heartbreak changes small things. The night feels longer. Music sounds sadder. Certain places feel unfamiliar. And silence… silence no longer feels empty. It feels full of things I wish never happened. I think heartbreak also changes the way I love. A part of me became softer. Another part became quieter.
