My guy the study literally explains in the beginning that it will overlook sub tribes and generalize a population. The study is a result of a methodology focused on broad, modern linguistic and geographic classifications instead of granular, historical clan analysis. It didn’t study or analyze Turkmen Hazara or other tribes claiming Turkic origins in Afghanistan. Yes we have mongol origins and the largest Hazara tribe in Afghanistan (Daizangi) are mongol, but that doesn’t mean all of us are. It has been recorded since the 16th century by travellers, writers, and royalty , most notably Babur, where he mentions Hazara speaking both Mongol and Turkic, and of their Turkic and Mongol origins.

We are more of a Mongol. indeed. but we shouldn't deny the Turkic and Iranian roots either. even if we are heavily Mongol.

Thing is, the original Turks were from Mongolia, and all the ancestors of Turks & Mongols were part of the Hun confederation two thousand years ago. Central Asian & Siberian Turks are still very similar to Mongols. Only the Anatolian "Turks" are very different from the rest.

Actually most of uzbeks themselves are a mix of mongols, a bit Turkic and mostly Tajik and they’re pure turks. The name uzbek is itself derived from Uzbeg khan a mongol leader descendent of gengiz khan
