Both are in the right, neither are wrong. It’s baseball, let them play. It’ll be a core memory for both of them.

for everyone who don't know jack about baseball
1. obstruction only occurs when the player is in the base path without possession (doesn't apply here)
2. if there is no option for runner to retreat with possession its obstruction cause the tag is unnecessary (doesn't apply here)
3. the runner has 3 options slide and aim for glove in hope of fumble remains 3ft from your current position and dodge the glove in anyway (trea turnner full dive over the catcher) or initiate a pickle force a mistake or an actual obstruction dude took option d none of the above and was rightly ejected there is no room for debate runner intentionally tried causing unnecessary harm for whatever reason is irrelevant point is he was rightly ejected and the catcher deserves an award

Umpire made the right call. Out and ejected. And should be suspended.

Rule says runner must slide or avoid contact he lowered shoulder he is out and ejected. This is not pro ball

the catcher didn't provide a clear path to the plate. Stupid rule in my opinion but considering the new rule I'd say he's safe, old school baseball he's out.

Catcher was in the wrong. If he wasn’t 10ft up the base path and standing directly in the way blocking the path to home then it never would’ve happened.

Catcher in the right, but I’m also telling catcher it’s a stupid thing to do if he values his health.

catcher needs to learn a spin tag or duck and up football move

Catcher had time to step aside to make the tag.

It depends, because for many leagues, there’s a mandatory slide rule. I assume that that’s the case here because the umpire threw the runner out of the game.

You can’t initiate contact as a runner now, but I agree. When I learned the game it was truck em city

Catcher was right. He had the established position with plenty of time to spare and the runner should have slowed or swerved.
