Martin Margiela’s private archive is heading to auction in Paris on 9 July, as reported by @markc_oflaherty in @financialtimesfashion. The sale brings together more than 150 lots from Margiela’s own collection, including garments, prototypes, sketches, personal objects and pieces from his time at Hermès between 1997 and 2003. It is being coordinated by @maurice_auction with @kerrytaylorauctions, with a preview planned at a secret location in June. Among the lots are his 1988 rotary desk phone, graffiti-covered Tabi boots, runway veils, scaled-down miniatures of iconic looks and a lightweight cashmere and silk Hermès AW98 ensemble. The most loaded item may be Margiela’s own white Blouse Blanche, the studio uniform worn by him and his team, marked with his name on the collar.
