milky way photo tutorial using a phone
first you need a phone that supports pro mode, any phone is fine, if you already have it, download any sky map app, but here I’m using Stellarium, then open the app, then point your phone toward the sky, then look for where the milky way is, once you find it, immediately put your phone on a tripod so it’s stable, then just open the camera and go into pro mode, for the settings I set the shutter speed to 20–30 seconds, then for ISO I usually use 300–600, if the light pollution where you are is low I suggest just 300 so the sky shows clearly, make sure you shoot where the sky is clear/slightly cloudy and has minimal light pollution so the result is more optimal, after that set a 5‑second timer so it stays still and stable, then just wait until the shoot is finished.
