People bring up Steyer’s past investments a lot, which is fair to discuss, but the bigger question for voters is what candidates are doing now. Steyer publicly divested from private prisons and fossil fuels years ago, while Becerra is currently taking support from major corporate interests during a statewide affordability crisis. That’s why a lot of undecided voters are reevaluating things.
