Most people buying these don’t live in them. It’s just a place to invest their money. Similar to art. Wealthy people have to find places to hold their money. They don’t put it all in the bank. They balance their portfolios with many different things.

The irony here is if there are 80 resident units, less than 8 units will actually live there. People buying $40MM apartments probably have 5 or 6 residents. You will never see your neighbors other than a holiday, and that’s if you’re not traveling yourself.
