@marisaknorris: No one tells you how hard this transition is 🥹 I never planned to breastfeed. I overcame self consciousness I didn’t know I had, fed my baby wherever we were when he needed it, and somewhere along the way it became one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. From a brand new newborn who needed me every single hour to an almost 18 month old who reaches for me, rubs my face and looks up at me. This journey has been everything I didn’t know I needed. I learned more about mental endurance and that I can do hard things. I did something I never thought I would or could! And now I’m feeling the quiet pressure from every direction to wrap it up. Society has an opinion on every single thing we do as moms. When to start, when to stop, how long is too long. I’m just trying to follow his lead and soak in the last few feeds without guilt. 🥹 To every mom on this journey, however it looked for you, you are incredible.
