What causes something to be in process for 20 years and no human trials? Is it that complicated, no funding? If it’s so promising wouldn’t funding be easy? Thank you for information

I want to try this for my hives and joint inflammation. Waiting to see if we can find an underlying cause. The doctors want to call it “chronic idiopathic”and want to start Rhapsido but its side effects sound awful.
