I’m pretty certain the message of the Bible was to spread faith and the word, not force it onto people. And yet, some bastards made the decision “Hey! Let’s go enslave and torture and pillage and countless other atrocities in the name of our Savior! What can go wrong?” Like if I was God, I’d be pissed. Promise or no promise about floods or fires or whatever, I’m smiting everyone and starting over! (And that’s if I’m the type of God that instead of sitting on a cloud watching all of this, I’m actively telling people how to behave cuz this “free will” shit is clearly not working.) And also, what annoys me is that apparently the Bible has been greatly misinterpreted and mistranslated. And like, none of its content ever made sense to begin with, and also why, to me as a Hispanic person, should even I even follow a religion that’s been forced upon half of my ancestors? When a book that’s supposed to preach about “peace and love” is to inflicted unspeakable pain onto countless others in the same name of that “peace and love.” Because if that’s the case, then I rather burn as a “heathen”, after all in the end, apparently God will still love me even as I “burn in Hell”.
